Why
Go Pro?
The Love of Diving:“The
benefit is that I’m doing something that I love. I’ve been
fortunate to surround myself with individuals who dive and
like diving, and who like to share diving with other people
who are becoming divers and who are divers. So from that
standpoint, you really can’t ask for a much better
job.” - David O'Donnel
Opportunity
to Teach:“It’s
been a great opportunity for me to not only meet a lot of
great people, but to see somebody start out at the very
beginning and progress all the way to PADI Master Scuba
Diver or Divemaster or even Instructor. So, I mean, that’s
obviously very gratifying.” - Rick Newton
Lifestyle:“I have
the best job in the world. You know, any job where you can
come into work in shorts and T-shirts or casual shirts
every day and wear flip-flops – what a wonderful
job.” - Nick Jenny
Self
Improvement:“To
teach is to learn and I love to do both. Diving provides
the opportunity to learn math, biology, physics, history,
physiology and communication skills. What other sport
really allows you to learn while having so much fun. Plus,
diving helps keep me in shape. Try doing that with an
office job.” - Ted Moreta
Enjoy
Outdoor Activities:“It’s
the opportunity to be outdoors, to be one with nature. To
experience an element not originally intended for people.
The things you get to see underwater are amazing. I just
like to feel weightless and free to move as I wish. My
office is the ocean. All you desk-dwelling workers out
there – eat your hearts out. You want to be
me!”
- Jason Hannah
A
Passion to Care for the Environment: Many
instructors cite their first dive as a life changing
experience. For this reason, many are very dedicated to
sharing that experience with others and to helping to
preserve that experience for future generations. They
become actively involved in activities such as underwater
cleanups, coral restoration projects and helping to educate
people, especially children, about the environment.
